Constant flow of unfiltered water causes erosion of concrete canal's surface, sludge accumulation and corrosion of reinforcing rebars that leads to frequent cleaning works as well as soonest complete destruction of the structure.

In contrast to concrete canals corrosion resistant “half pipes” produced by “Azkompozit” have smooth surface, lightweight (1/8 of concrete weight) and the length up to 12 m.

The smoothness of the surface prevents the water speed from slowing down and minimizes surface erosion.

Lightweight and length of GRP “half-pipe” facilitate transportation and speed up the installation process.

GRP “half-pipes” are produced using UV-resistant resins that additionally increase their service life under open-air conditions.
